Recycle

At the end of their life, toys can sometimes be recycled. This can be a complicated process compared to household recycling due to the various materials used to make toys. Toys for Joy, a collaboration between TerraCycle and Big W, as well as TerraCycle’s Zero Waste Box for Toys, are great initiatives to explore.

Donating Used Toys

When toys are no longer in a condition where they can be played with, they can be donated to the Toys for Joy initiative. Toys for Joy is a collaborative effort between TerraCycle and Big W. Donation bins are located at every Big W location, Australia-wide. There are conditions to which toys and materials can be donated, please visit the Big W website for further information.

Toy Recycling

TerraCycle's Zero Waste Box for Toys is a service with minimal effort required by the hosting family or business. Hosts purchase the recycling box from TerraCycle's website which is shipped to the nominated location. Once the box is filled it is then returned to TerraCycle using the prepaid return label.
