Reuse

Reuse

Reusing toys from other families or passing on your own toys to another family is an accessible way of extending the life of toys and keeping them out of landfill.

There are many great ways to share toys within your community including purchasing pre-loved, borrowing from a Toy Library, attending or hosting a Toy Swap, seeing what's available on your local Buy Nothing Group through Facebook, or simply passing toys on to another family.

Many pre-loved toys can be cleaned up and disinfected, giving parent's confidence that their child can enjoy hygienic play while also making a positive impact on the environment.

Toy Libraries

There are many community resources available for parents and carers of children, including toy libraries and other toy rental options. The directory below lists available options - if you run a toy library or other toy hire facility, please contact us to have it listed in our directory.

Local Swap Events

Toy Swaps are a sustainable way to simultaneously find new toys for your family, pass on toys to other families and meet other members of your community. Toy Swaps can be organised at your local school, community centre or at a family's home. Visit the Toy Swap Australia website for more information.
